DATANET WIRELESS IP ROUTING
For the past 14 years Datalink Systems Inc has focused on developing and marketing a unique suite of wireless data software and integrated hardware solutions. The company is currently marketing a system that can be used over multiple satellite and terrestrial networks based on a proprietary software core product called DataGate - a multi-network wireless IP software router.
DataGate is a powerful software program developed and matured over the last decade. Operating in a client/server relationship, DataGate can be used as an IP packet routing hub integrated with third-party mobile or fixed remote hardware products and third-party host software.

DataNET is a complete end-to-end software solution based on a conventional client/server relationship, rather than an ASP service where a third party hosts the data and charges a monthly fee for access. DataGate is the packet data software routing hub. This can be operated as a central server catering to a number of unrelated customers, or it can be sold to those customers who wish to have complete end-to-end control within their own networks. DataHost is Datalink's client software, which connects from customers' computers to DataGate over the Internet or intranet.
DataNET is compatible with a range of hardware devices as outlined here.
FEATURES
- Multiple wireless network interfaces
- Works with static and dynamic IP addressing
- Captures dynamic IP addresses (GPRS, Globalstar and MSV)
- Works as a private routing hub for maximum security
- Works as a public regional or national router
- Integrates with legacy systems and third-party programs
THIRD-PARTY INTEGRATION
DataGate can connect to third-party legacy systems using TCP/IP or simple text read/write flat files. Software development may be required.
WIRELESS TELEMETRY
DataNET is ideally suited as a transparent wireless link between remote telemetry devices and host programs. Click here for more information.
OPTIONAL DATAHOST
DataHost is the optional client program that resides on the customer’s computers. DataHost is fully integrated with Microsoft Bing Maps and Google Maps covering most of the Globe. Microsoft Mappoint, covering Canada, USA and Western Europe, is also supported. DataHost will also interface with mapping programs such as Google Earth, MapInfo, Streets-on-a-Disk and others. Datahost can provide a NMEA GPS output for third-party development.
Unlike the majority of ASP web-based GPS tracking services, where a third party hosts all the data, DataHost stores all the historical data on the customer’s computers, allowing for instant recall and map zooming coast-to-coast in seconds.
DataGate acts as the server, processing and relaying data between multiple wireless networks and Internet connected DataHosts or third-party programs on a local, regional or global basis.
DataGate routes packet data over the following wireless networks:
GSM-GPRS....CDMA-1xRTT....VHF/UHF/800 MHz Mobile Radio....Spread Spectrum.....Inmarsat C, BGAN and D+....Globalstar (Duplex and Simplex)....MSAT....Iridium.
MOBILE SOFTWARE FOR WINDOWS OS
Mobius is a Windows-based software program for mobile laptops or ruggedized tablets. It is fully integrated with DataGate, exchanging data with DataHosts or third-party programs over multiple networks. Mobius can be installed in a mobile laptop or tablet PC in vehicles, vessels and light aircraft.
Mobius provides optional on screen mapping plus two-way text messaging. By adding a GPS receiver, the vehicle’s own position appears on the map as well as being transmitted to base DataHosts.
Mobius sends data using the laptop's wired/wireless Internet connection. For dual-network operation other modems can be attached via the serial COM ports to work over a number of networks. Automatic network switching is included.
