Datalink's Host Software is the result of twelve years of evolution. It has been used by U.S. and Canadian government agencies for secure GPS tracking and IP packet data routing. The current version offers unsurpassed adaptability. Unlike ASP (web server based) software, which ties the customer to a third-party server, Mercury is client/server based. This allows our resellers to operate their own revenue generating hub or to sell to larger corporations and government agencies who want to operate their own private network. DataNET is fully integrated with MapPoint, Bing Maps, Google Maps, Google Earth, and other mapping platforms such as ESRI ArcGIS or SHP file maps. Licenses may be required for some mapping services. Mercury focuses on the sections of DataGate that applies to NEXEDGE and FleetSync radio operation, simplifying the training required.

The Mercury software suite consists of an IP packet data routing server called DataGate, which links to one or more client programs such as Datalink's DataHost, or third-party software connected over the Internet or Intranet. DataNET is compatible with most wireless networks including cellular, mobile radio and satellite networks on a global basis. Corporations and government agencies can install DataGate on their own servers in a secure environment, satisfying their security requirements. DataNET is compatible with a wide range of third-party hardware sourced directly from the distributors. AES-256 encrypted DataGates are available where maximum data security is required.
